Peter Mondavi, Jr. the third generation co-proprietor of Charles Krug Winery, will collaborate with Chef David Burke and Park Ave Kitchen to present a spectacular Wine Dinner featuring the extraordinary production of Napa Valley’s oldest winery estate. Chef Burke and Mr. Mondavi will talk food and wine in general, while introducing , each course and viniculture with their unparalleled, often entertaining, insight. There will also be a brief, fun Q&A Session. Don’t miss this very special evening with two giants in their respective industries. Tickets are limited to assure this will be an intimate affair.
First Course
“Chef’s Palate White Gazpacho” :: 2023 Sauvignon Blanc
Santa Barbara spotted prawn, grapes, toasted almonds, San Francisco sourdough
(the bowl will contain a carefully placed prawn + the grapes & almonds. The gazpacho will be poured atop the colorful bowl tableside.)
Second Course
“Just for the Halibut” :: 2023 Chardonnay
Alaskan halibut, black plums, black garlic, ube pureé
(this chardonnay’s fruit is picked in the cool of night to ensure it reaches the winery in pristine condition, so we are plating a bright white fish atop the dark accoutrement. We will ask the guests to put on a blindfold when we serve the second course, explain the harvest process, then they’ll remove the blindfold to enjoy.)
Third Course
“Duck, Duck, Goose” :: 2022 Merlot
Hanging roasted duck (Chef Burke will carve pieces tableside), cold-smoked duck (torched tableside), albufera sauce w/green-tea & cherry duck jus, asparagus
Fourth Course
“Lamb Wellington” :: 2019 Family Reserve “Generations” Cabernet Sauvignon
grape leaf, fresh pastry, cabernet jus, roasted vegetable, foraged mushroom mousse
Dessert
